11.4 Update - all mail going to SPAM

Installed the update and got the message of incompatible;e plug-in. Ignored and all seemed to be working fine. However, after a day have lost all new emails to the SPAM folder.

It’s important for the plug-in to be loaded or Mail will move every message to Spam without consulting SpamSieve. If you get the “Incompatible Plug-ins Disabled” error message even though you already have the latest version of SpamSieve, you should:

  1. Reset Mail’s private plug-ins folder.

  2. Enable the plug-in in Mail.

  3. If you continue to get an error message, write down what it says and send it in along with a diagnostic report.

The good messages that were moved to the Spam mailbox while SpamSieve’s plug-in was not installed should not be trained because they are not SpamSieve mistakes. You can just drag them back to the inbox.

You must be kidding! As a longtime user, these operations are above my MAC pay grade. I got to deleting the bundle, but I don’t want to go further. So SPAMSIEVE is now useless to me, and it was so good. This is just too much for a non-computer person to do (terminal mode, etc). So, will you be issuing a fix for the basic program or must I find a new SPAM FILTER solution?

If you were able to complete Step 4 of deleting the bundle, you are done and can just re-enable the plug-in in Mail’s preferences. What is the “further” that you thought you needed to do?

Thanks for getting back to me, since I really don’t want to give up this program. So I did get through STEP 4 and the BUNDLES folder is in trash.

But when I check the SpamSieve box in RULES …

… and then QUIT MAIL, all this time the SPAMSIEVE app is not OPEN.

Then I OPEN MAIL, and SPAMSIEVE doesn’t open as it used to with the MAIL app. If I then OPEN SPAMSIEVE manually with Mail open, I get this ERROR MESSAGE

If I look at the RULE here is my screen.

SO, NO Bundle any longer inPlug-Ins, but the RULE doesn’t open the SPAMSIEVE app.

It sounds like you did not enable the SpamSieve plug-in in the General tab of Mail’s preferences. (Normally, there should be a SpamSieve window telling you to do this right after the one that you showed a picture of.)

You are THE BEST. Thanks for sticking with me - and I think this has solved the problem. Have a good weekend - hope they are giving you Memorial Day-Monday off - just so you don’t have to deal with people like me.
