Apple Junk Rules vs SpanSieve

I really appreciate your attention to issues and your quick support of the users you have. I wish all software, and for that matter retailers of all kinds, were as responsive and support as you. Thank you.

However, I have uninstalled SS. I think I may be missing something big. With SS, a message comes in, goes to the Junk folder. I see the junk and erase it. On occasion, I see a message that is NOT spam, and I train SS accordingly (mark it as “Good”). It is returned to my In-Box. Without SS, the process is EXACTLY the same. Mail comes in, it is dealt with by my Apple Junk Mail rules and is placed in my Junk folder. I go through the same steps, other than marking good emails as “Good”. What is the benefit of using SS? I am a new user still in the evaluation period.

The benefits are:

  • SpamSieve puts more of the spam messages into Junk automatically.
  • SpamSieve puts fewer good messages into Junk.
  • SpamSieve’s color coding makes it easier to spot the rare good message that goes to Junk.
  • You can optionally make the worst spam messages go directly to Trash.

So, basically, the process is very similar but it saves you a lot of time.
