Can I stop seeing some messages?

(First, please bear with me - I came of age with rotary phones, LP records, and manual typewriters, so it’s sometimes hard to keep up.) I’ve had SpamSieve for awhile (on an Apple computer, Verizon mail server). I’ve followed instructions to train it to recognize good vs. spam messages, but I often need to check the ‘trash’ and ‘junk’ folders for things that go there by mistake.

When I do, there is a deluge of horrible porn spam emails with really violent subject lines that I find quite disturbing, even upsetting. I’ve tried opening some for an “unsubscribe” link, but what looks like an “unsubscribe” option is only an image, not a real link. I’ve tried blocking the sender(s) in every way I know how, but they keep getting through. Yes, the emails do go to a junk folder, but I want them to bounce back to the sender so that I never even have to see them! Can’t I do that?

Thanks!!

Do you have SpamSieve set to move some messages to the trash, or are they going there for some other reason?

Sorry, but there’s no such thing.

How awful! These are vile, violent subject lines. How will my granddaughter be protected from seeing such things? Can I block certain words?

Yes, you can use the blocklist to block certain words, to ensure that matching messages don’t end up in the inbox. If you want, you can use the Move it to the Trash if the spam score is at least setting to make messages matching the blocklist go directly to Trash instead of Junk.
