Suddenly, about three months ago, I started to receive spam emails in French. Spamsieve correctly puts them in “Spam”, but is there a way that they all be put into “Trash”, without me having to do anything? I don’t have any contacts who write to me in French!
There’s no built-in way to do this, but you could for example create blocklist rules that match some of the common words. If you use the Example 1 setup here, the blocklisted messages would then go directly to the trash.
Thank you for this very quick reply. I’ll try your suggestion with some specific French words.
I’d like to come back to this feature.
With advances in AI, wouldn’t it be possible to have settings for accepted languages and reject others?
This is something I’m considering. SpamSieve is already using machine learning to detect the language in some circumstances, but Apple’s model can be slow and cause hangs so I’m not sure it would be suitable to use for every message. I need to do some more experimenting to see whether it works more reliably with macOS Tahoe.
