The problems are relatively simple. I am unable to setup the rules. My inboxes don’t pull up in the window when I type in INBOX for anything other than my outlook or live.com accounts. I have 7 other accounts, gmail, imap, etc… So I can’t get beyond step one. Second problem is that it tells me to look under “On My Computer”. That menu doesn’t exist, but where it seems it should, I see “Client Rules” so I’m assuming that’s the correct area to search for my inboxes. Also, under “Server Rules” only my live.com and outlook.com accounts show in that area if that makes any difference to this situation.
It sounds like you are following the wrong set of instructions. The Outlook 2016 setup instructions do not ask you to create any rules.
