DNS sinkhole stops SpamSieve from working

I recently installed pihole as an adblocker and, since then, SpamSieve has stopped filtering spam. I assume it’s because I am inadvertently blocking a domain SpamSieve needs to communicate with to work. Does anyone know which domain(s) I need to whitelist to allow SpamSieve to do its job?

SpamSieve does all filtering locally on your Mac. It doesn’t even try to access the network.

Which mail client are you using? There’s some general troubleshooting information here.

Went through that last night. Will do it again to make sure I didn’t miss a step. Thanks.

After going through the list again, I’m still having problems. When I follow the instructions to test by clicking on Filter Now, nothing happens and nothing shows in the log.

Are you saying that you have no recent Predicted entries in the log at all?

Which folder are the unfiltered spam messages in?

There are predicted, but they’re all good.

I just pressed the Filter button with a spam message in the Inbox and nothing happened. There’s no activity showing in the log from pressing the button.

That means the filtering is working (set up properly) but SpamSieve was just wrong. So you should look at why the log says they were predicted to be good. Have you been correcting all the mistakes?

It’s normal that filtering again won’t do anything if the messages had already been filtered.
