Drone setup: emails in primary computer imap Junk folder already loaded with remote content

Hi, I’ve been using SpamSieve for a very long time, it’s a great app!

I’ve been using the drone setup; the emails are filtered on a mac mini that runs all the time and is mostly unattended. It works well to catch most junk mails for my imap account. For those emails it mis-classifies, I use the train spam or train good folders, and that works nicely.

When I first started using the drone setup, I thought I remembered that the junk mails (on my regular/primary computer, not the drone) would not have remote content downloaded, and, they would be marked with a different color when shown in the junk folder. And, I could see them in the “all junk” folder. And, they showed up properly on the drone computer.

Now, on my regular computer, I don’t see the spamsieve processed junk in my “all junk” folder. the junk mails are showing in the imap junk folder as regular messages (not colored at all, and have the remote content downloaded). They still show up properly on the drone computer.

Not sure if this is a change in spamsieve, or in apple mail, or with my email imap provider. Note: I haven’t changed any settings in apple mail.

Any insight you might have on this will be appreciated!

Thanks!

I don’t think Apple Mail has ever synced colors between Macs, so I would not expect the spams caught by SpamSieve to have different colors on your non-drone Mac.

If the contents of All Junk don’t match between Macs, that suggests that one or both of them has the wrong Junk mailbox configured for that account in Mail’s settings.

First, you want both Macs to have the same mailbox selected. But, also, you want to pick the same mailbox that your mail provider uses for junk/spam, because that increases the likelihood that the messages will get marked as junk on the server so that Mail knows not to load remote content.

Thanks for your reply. That did the trick!
