EagleFiler 1.9.18 Update Fails: Locked Items in Applications Folder

I have EagleFiler 1.9.17, macOS 15.6.1 and receive this error when upgrading to 1.9.18.

After downloading from the c.command website

I dragged the new EagleFiler application icon into the Applications folder and click Replace when the Finder asks if you want to overwrite the old version. This resulted in this error message:

“The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again.”

I decided to download the 1.9.18 DMG file again. However, I received the same error message gain. I have also tried restarting my mac Mini m1.

I am considering trashing the application, but do am not sure if that is the right fix. What should I try to do next?

It sounds like the problem is with the old file, not the new one. So, yes, I would trash it and then drag the new one into place.

Thank, now on 1.9.18
