Right now, deleting a record when in Tag view does the right thing: it removes the tag from the record. It would be great however to be able to delete the record. Right now, I have to “Select source” then find the record again in the library to delete it.
What do you have in mind?
Another way is to drag the record to the trash source.
perhaps, to continue the iTunes analogy, opt-delete could move the file into the trash.
Somehow I never knew you could do that in iTunes. That’s perfect.
I thought that dragging to the trash would be the same as deleting, but thinking about it, it does make sense.
As suggested above, opt-delete would be perfect.
Option-delete is listed in the iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts help but there are a surprising number of useful undocumented option-key-modifier-using stealth shortcuts in Apple apps. I occasionally find some by accident and word-of-mouth, always wondering how many are still left to discover.
This is implemented in EagleFiler 1.2.
