How to search for a folder by name in an EagleFiler library?

I have a library that contains almost 35000 records. They are organized in folders. When I search for a folder by name, I see all the records that have that word in the title but no folders.

I would like to be able to search for folders without seeing any records at all in the result. Is there a way to do this?

I can’t find anything in the Help or the manual.

Ellen

There are a few ways to do this:

  1. If the keyboard focus is in the source list, you can begin typing the name of a folder and (if it’s visible, not inside of a collapsed folder) EagleFiler will select it.

  2. If Records is selected in the source list, you can search that using the search field, and EagleFiler will show the matching folders (but also the matching records).

  3. You can make a smart folder called Folders (with conditions Kind contains folder), and if you select that in the source list it will show only folders, and then you can search them with the search field.

Great! The smart folder solution works for me. It also made me think that I should use them more often.

Thanks, Michael.
