I have both an iPad and a mac and I use Apple Mail and gMail on both devices. When I send myself an email from my iPad, the email shows up in the Sent folder of mail on my mac. All other mail sent to me shows up as expected in the Inbox on my mac. Why doesn’t the mail sent from my iPad show up there too? Could SpamSieve be stopping the delivery in some way? Note that SpamSieve is only installed on my mac and the emails do not appear in my mac’s Junk folder.
SpamSieve does not prevent receiving messages. It just moves them to Junk. You can see whether it tried to do this by looking for the message in the Log window.
Thanks. They are being predicted as good(0) so something else must be going on but I can’t imagine what.

Marty
You could check for any other Mail rules or extensions or other Macs/devices accessing this mail account.
I use about 70 Apple Mail rules to help cut down on the spam emails that would otherwise wind up in my Junk folder, and one of them was the cause of my not being able to send emails to myself.
What can I do to via SpamSieve to stop, or at least cut down, on the repetitious emails that wind up in my Junk folder? What I mean by that is currently there are 8 spam messages with the exact same subject, and 5 duplicates with a different subject.
Instead of using Apple Mail rules, you could create SpamSieve blocklist rules and set it to move blocklisted messages directly to the trash.
I don’t want to see them anywhere on my computer. I assume that the emails that I train as spam I never see again. What would be the effect if I “Train as Spam” the emails that are in my Junk folder?
Future messages from those senders would go to Trash instead of Junk.
So I guess you are saying that there is no SpamSieve equivalent to the “Delete Message” option found in Apple Mail rules. To me that seems like a large hole in what is otherwise an excellent application.
That’s right. I don’t think there’s a way for SpamSieve to do it. Apple’s Mail extension API doesn’t support that, and its AppleScript API has the feature but it doesn’t work properly.
