IMAP & SpamSieve

Hello! I’m a Mac user and my issue is regarding an IMAP Mail account.

Here is what I’m seeing:

New messages are arriving in my Inbox as read.

Blue dot that signifies new message does not appear when a new message arrives.

Font is never in bold when a new message arrives even though that feature is turned on under Mail Preferences.

When replying to a message, the reply icon/indicator does appear to let me know that I did indeed reply to that message.

Cannot reply to a message without first selecting forward, then the reply feature will work.

I’m relatively new to SpamSieve and I’m just trying to rule out the possibility that 3rd party software might be having a negative impact upon my Mail account.

Would appreciate any feedback and guidance that you feel appropriate.

SpamSieve would not cause any of these things. It sounds like maybe Mail’s database file is damaged. You can rebuild it by quitting Mail and deleting the file:

/Users/<username>/Library/Mail/Envelope Index

Have you tried “rebuilding” your mail boxes under Mail “mailbox menu”

I had this and my solution was to rebuild mailboxes only
