Importing Bookmarks

Hello,

I am a new user and am trying to import bookmarks.

As per my current understanding, I expect importing an HTML file created by Safari, Firefox or Zotero should be parsed and that every url found will generate a record in the format configured (bookmarks, html, pdf, …).

Is that correct?

If so:

I have tried drag/drop into the main window, the Drop Pad and the “To Import” folder.

I enabled “allow duplicates” to be sure that was not my problem.

The input HTML file gets loaded into the library as is, no parsing/retrieving of each url.

Is that the expected behavior or is there some configuration option I am missing?

Regards,

Philippe

With a few exceptions (such as Apple Mail mailbox packages where doing so would give you something unusable), when you tell EagleFiler to import a file it will import it as-is. This goes for .html files that happen to contain bookmarks as well as XML files that happen to contain Evernote data. If you want EagleFiler to parse the file, you would need to use the separate command in the File menu, e.g. Import Bookmarks… or Import ENEX File….

Thank you.
