Japanese text in the search field

Hello,

I started a trial of EagleFiler today.

I have a question about how search results are displayed when I use Japanese text in the search field.

When I enter Japanese text in the search field, the results are not displayed as I expected. Specifically, starting from the initial state shown in screenshot_01.jpg, entering Search String 1 produces the result in screenshot_02.jpg, and entering Search String 2 produces the result in screenshot_03.jpg. The result I expected is the one in screenshot_04.jpg, which is what I get when I enter Search String 3.

For Search Strings 1 and 2, the matching records themselves are correct, but the yellow highlighting of the search string appears to be applied to only some of the records.

Search String 1: ใใผใ‚
U+305D U+307C U+308D

Search String 2: ใ‚นใƒผใƒ—
U+30B9 U+30FC U+30D7

Search String 3: ่ฑ†่…
U+8C46 U+8150

Environment:
M6 Mac mini (2026)
macOS 27.2 (Build 26B123, Golden Gate)

EagleFiler version:
1.9.22, downloaded directly from C-Command Software, LLC.

If there is any additional information I can provide, please let me know.

Thank you.

Thanks for the report. Are you able to copy/paste into this thread the titles of some of the records that should have been highlighted but werenโ€™t?

Thank you for your reply.

Here are the titles of some records that were not highlighted when I searched for โ€œใใผใ‚โ€:

  1. ่ฑ†่…ใใผใ‚ใ‚นใƒผใƒ—
    U+8C46 U+8150 U+305D U+307B U+3099 U+308D U+30B9 U+30FC U+30D5 U+309A

  2. ่ฑ†่…ใใผใ‚ใ‚นใƒผใƒ—.jpg
    U+8C46 U+8150 U+305D U+307B U+3099 U+308D U+30B9 U+30FC U+30D5 U+309A U+002E U+006A U+0070 U+0067

  3. ใ€่ฑ†่…ใใผใ‚ใฎใจใ‚ใฟใ‚นใƒผใƒ—ใ€‘๏ผˆ2ไบบๅˆ†๏ผ‰15ๅˆ†.rtf
    U+3010 U+8C46 U+8150 U+305D U+307B U+3099 U+308D U+306E U+3068 U+308D U+307F U+30B9 U+30FC U+30D5 U+309A U+3011 U+FF08 U+0032 U+4EBA U+5206 U+FF09 U+0031 U+0035 U+5206 U+002E U+0072 U+0074 U+0066

I checked the code points, and these titles are in decomposed form (NFD): for example, โ€œใผโ€ is stored as U+307B U+3099 and โ€œใƒ—โ€ as U+30D5 U+309A. The search strings I typed are in precomposed form (U+307C for โ€œใผโ€, U+30D7 for โ€œใƒ—โ€). The records that were not highlighted seem to be the ones whose titles are in decomposed form.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
