About a year ago, after some years of minimal spam making it through SS, I started getting stuff popping up again. This has ramped up since then, and now I get about 30 a day. In every case, I train all of them as spam (in SS), but similar stuff returns the next day.
SS is still catching quite a lot of spam, so it’s not entirely inactive. However, I’m unsure about how to stop this latest onslaught of stuff.
Any ideas? And would submitting the offending emails somewhere (securely) help?
Thanks!
Sounds like there’s some sort of setup issue. Please use the Save Diagnostic Report command in the Help menu and send me the report file, as described here.
Thank you for the super fast reply Michael! I just sent you my report.
Thanks for sending the report. I’m not seeing these 30 spams per day that you’re referring to. The log shows none trained today or 2/13, one trained on 2/12 (which was not a SpamSieve mistake). There were 16 on 2/11, which was the most in the last month. Many days had none, with the average being 4.
Please make sure that when you train a message as spam you use the Train as Spam command, not the Move to Junk command (which is for Mail, not SpamSieve). You can see in SpamSieve’s Log window when it registers a message as trained. If you see any see any spam messages in the log that say Predicted: Good with a green circle, please train them as spam.
