Apologies if this is already covered (I could only see a post for a different App - DropDMG)
Is it possible to switch EagleFiler to light mode (or NOT dark mode)?

You can control Dark Mode for all apps in System Preferences ‣ General. To turn it on or off only for EagleFiler, you could click the preceding links. There is also the DarkTextBackgroundInDarkMode
setting in the esoteric preferences.
Came here to ask whether it’s possible to make the cursor more visible when system (I’m still on Big Sur) is in Dark Mode. I mostly use EagleFiler to file documents, but writing in it is almost intolerable because the cursor is nearly invisible.
Sorry about that. It’s fixed in the latest public beta.
In MacOS 15.1 it seems to be moved out of General. I can’t find anywhere where it is possible to change this on an app-based level. To me the dark mode in EagleFiler (and probably elsewhere) makes it difficult to read.
In macOS 15, you can control Dark Mode for all apps from System Settings ‣ Appearance.
If you have macOS as a whole set to use Dark Mode, you can set EagleFiler to run in Light Mode by entering this Terminal command:
defaults write com.c-command.EagleFiler NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance YES
OK, since you wrote " You can control Dark Mode for all apps in System Preferences ‣ General . To turn it on or off only for EagleFiler, you could click the preceding links." I thought it was possible from System Preferences/General.
But the Terminal code worked.
The links are shortcuts for using the EagleFiler-specific Terminal command.
However, is it not possible to view emails against a light background even if I use dark? As in Apple Mail and MailMate?
I just wonder since the white text against a black background is kind of difficult to read if you have limited eyesight.
That’s not currently possible, though it can probably be added as an option.
I’m curious why you are using Dark Mode if you don’t like white text against a dark background?
The reason for this is because - as the point with all my questions in this thread - I can’t choose to have light mode in EagleFiler only. In most apps including Apple Mail and MailMate, I can get the email content in black agains white. So it really doesn’t bother me that it is dark mode as standard. The Light version can on the other hand be VERY light. But just when it comes to reading emails white text against dark background can be a problem to read for some people. In Things3 I can change the text to be bigger, so there it is no problem.
I did choose to change to light with Terminal, but changed back to dark, and changed font and size, so it is readable.
As you see by some reason the quote text was blue, but I have now changed it ti yellow. And the white text I now have changed to “off-white”. So now it is readable.
But never mind. I only use EagleFiler to store old emails anyway.
That was the point of my original reply—I just tested that Light Mode for EagleFiler-only does still work on macOS 15.1. You would choose Dark Mode in System Settings and then enter the Terminal command to force EagleFiler into Light Mode. The change takes effect after quitting and relaunching EagleFiler.
You can make the text bigger in EagleFiler, too. For HTML e-mails, this is done by editing the Rich text font in the settings.
