Hello,

I’ve got a recurring virus alert for a message in my archive - how can I delete this email from the archive?

My advice is to just tell your anti-virus software not to scan your EagleFiler library. There is no danger in storing the message if it’s just sitting there and you are not opening the attachment. It is safe to view any messages using EagleFiler.

If you really want to delete the message:

  • A message file (.eml) can be deleted by dragging it to EagleFiler’s trash and emptying the trash.
  • A message in a mailbox (mbox) can only be deleted by deleting the whole mailbox file. So you would first want to drag the other
    messages in that mailbox to another folder so that they are not lost when you delete the mailbox.
