Hi all, hope well.
I know that Eaglefiler can integrate with dropbox but can it work properly if the dropbox settings are online only?
EagleFiler wants to have access to all the files that are in the library. We recommend not using Dropbox’s Smart Sync feature, which avoids downloading all the files to your Mac, as this can cause extra indexing and syncing.
Hi Michael, thanks for getting back to me so quickly, appreciate it.
Sorry to sound stupid but just so I understand clearly;
What this means is that Eagle filer needs access to files that are physically on the local drive and not in the cloud and it therefore cannot be used to save disk space?
Thanks, Dwight.
It will work in the sense that you should be able to do stuff in EagleFiler. But, at least the last time I tested this, when EagleFiler checks whether a file has changed that will cause Dropbox to download it. So in normal use it probably won’t save space locally. If you happen to know that the files in your library aren’t changing, you could maybe turn off indexing and then the files would only be downloaded as you view them.
