Pre-purchase question about iCloud sync

Hello. Here via your post in MPU Talk forum.

I am planning to use iCloud to sync EagleFiler database between two Mac computers (desktop and laptop).

1. I have Desktop & Documents sync enabled in iCloud settings. Will it make a difference whether I choose Documents folder or iCloud Drive as the database location?
2. “Optimize Mac Storage” is to be disabled. Is that correct?

I think they are equivalent if you have iCloud set to sync your Documents folder.
