Questions before purchasing

Hello,
I am looking for a program to sort of database all my files and folders
I was looking into DevonThink and EagleFiler
EagleFiler seems more ‘normal’ to me, but I have one main question that I am not getting clear

I am running a huge project. All the data is stored in 1 master folder (with many many many sub-folders).
Using EagleFiler, would that data be able to stay where it is or will it be moved?
Or does EagleFiler make a copy of it? (Which would mean an additional 50gb on my hard drive)

The entire folder would need to end up inside EagleFiler’s Files folder. You can choose whether this happens by moving or copying.
