I’m running a demo version of EagleFiler 1.6.1 (10.9.1) to compare to other products. Even with only 5-6 records in my database, it takes up to 10 seconds for Eaglefiler to open. I’ve left the program open to index for a few hours. Is this normal?

That’s normal. (I’m working to improve the launch time in a future version of EagleFiler.) Most of the time is spent loading the app rather than the library. So, for example, it’s not going to take 20 seconds if you double the number of records in the library. The app can stay open when the library window is closed, so subsequent opens will be faster.
No, indexing 5–6 records should take a matter of seconds. What do you see in EagleFiler’s Activity window?
Thanks for the quick reply. To answer your question, after leaving it open for a while there is no activity- so it’s not indexing. It sounds like my answer is to leave the application open to avoid the pause when opening the app.
