Two of these messages hit my inbox daily, and I can’t stop them. I’ve added several items to my Blocklist in an attempt to head them off, but they seem ineffective. Any suggestions on how to stop these from hitting my inbox every day?
Does the Log window say that SpamSieve predicted the messages to be good?
What did you add to the blocklist?
Michael,
Thanks to your pointer, I found that the emails were matching an occurrence of my name in my AllowList. The emails have me as the sender. So I have disabled those AllowList entries, reclassified the ones in today’s mail as spam, and we’ll see what happens in tomorrow’s mail.
It shouldn’t be necessary to do that manually. Normally, when you train a message as spam, SpamSieve will automatically disable any matching allowlist rules. Did you not train these? Or were your allowlist rules locked?
Michael,
I trained them every day. I now see that there are perhaps 25 AllowList entries that are locked. Did I do that? I don’t recall.
IN most cases, the locked items have to do with one of my various name variants[…]
Yes, you must have because SpamSieve never locks any rules itself.
Michael,
Well, I’m nearly 80 years old, so that qualifies as an acceptable memory lapse. ![]()
