I had to uninstall my copy when the trial ended but since then, all new mail keeps appearing in the Spam mailbox that was initially set up. Even if I delete this mailbox, any new mail triggers its creation again.
It sounds like you need to delete the SpamSieve rule in Apple Mail (Step 1). This will happen automatically if you choose the Uninstall Apple Mail Plug-In… command.
Thanks, Michael. I’ve ended up buying SpamSieve - very happy with it. One final question. I’ve just added my first message marked as spam and it has saved it to the ‘Spam’ folder. When I look at the message - it’s showing the apple junk mail header - ‘You marked this message as Junk Mail.’ Then there are the three buttons Load Remote Content, Not Junk and Move to Junk. Is this correct?
Yes. When you train a message as spam, SpamSieve also tells Mail’s junk filter that it’s spam. This keeps the display in Mail in sync and protects you from Web bugs.
