Spam in web.de (filtered by server) are not being recogniuzed

Hi,

With one of my mail providers (web.de) I am having an issue that SpamSieve does recognise mails which has been filtered by the provider (which I cannot disable).

Such spam mails are moved to the server-side spam folder before it reaches my Mail with Spamsieve.

According to Spamsieve instructions, I have correctly selected the spam folder in my Mail settings, see below.

I cannot add the Spam filter in the SpamSieve settings.

Below are two examples of spam, located in the server-side spam folder, but unread, this means that Spamsieve did not scan them.

I cannot find these mails in Korpus, nor in the logs.

How can I enforce SpamSieve to scan also this server-side spam folder as it shows in my local Apple Mail app?

When I move them manually to “TrainSpam” it works as expected, but I’d like to avoid the manual step.

thx
Mike

What are you trying to accomplish here if the spam messages are already being automatically moved out of your inbox? It is not necessary to train SpamSieve with messages that are not its mistakes.

Hi Michael,

You do have a point here

Indeed, I wanted to ensure that all Mails are handled by Spamsieve. But you are correct, it’s already correctly recognized as spam and no further action is needed.

Beside that, I am super happy with Spamsieve and how it “just works” with my Apple Mail.

Thank you for a great product!
