SpamSieve 3.2.2 appears in dock even though "Show In Dock" is unchecked

I recently bought a new iMac M4 that shipped with Tahoe which I absolutely did not want to use so I downgraded it to Sequoia 15.7.4.

When I start up the computer and Apple Mail and Spam Sieve launch, SpamSieve appears in the dock even though I have Show In Dock unchecked. If I quit Mail and then relaunch it, SpamSieve behaves normally. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you, John

Please see “If the SpamSieve Icon Is Still In Your Dock” on this page.

Thank you very much for responding. I have one other quick question.

I have Apple Mail set up as POP. There are two Junk folders: one in the sidebar under On My Mac and one at the bottom of the Sidebar under my mail account name.

In the beginning SpamSieve was sending spam to the On My Mac junk folder but now it’s sending it to the other junk folder under my account name. Is there any difference in these folder? Do they behave differently in any way?

Regards, John

Apple Mail has a separate Junk mailbox for each account, and there may be an extra one under On My Mac for messages that were not associated with a particular account at the time they were marked as junk. All the Junk mailboxes (if they have the special icon to indicate that Mail is using them for spam) should behave in the same away, e.g. get emptied if you use the Erase Junk Mail command.
