SpamSieve Manual Section 2.2 - "Eject SpamSieve icon"

I am installing SpamSieve 3.3 on my partner’s M1 iMac running macOS 26.5. I downloaded SS from the C-Command webpage, and dragged the SS icon into the computer’s Applications folder. I double clicked on the SpamSieve icon, and SS loaded: its icon appeared in the Dock, and the small SS icon appeared in the Menu Bar.

The “Installing SpamSieve “instructions in the SS manual now tell me to “Eject the SpamSieve-3.3 icon.” I do not see a SpamSieve icon on the desktop, and cannot find a SpamSieve icon using Finder search. Where is it located? Perhaps this instruction is no longer needed in macOS 26.5?

Thanks!

Depending on your settings, it may appear in the Finder side bar like this:

or in the Finder ‣ Go ‣ Computer window. The instructions are still valid with macOS 26.5.

Thanks, Michael. The SpamSieve icon is not present in the sidebar of either a new Finder Window, nor in the window that opens when selecting SpamSieve > Menu Bar > Go > Computer. Should I trash the entire installation and start again from scratch? Something else?

If you don’t see it, I guess it was already ejected, so you are done with that part of the installation and can move on to the next step.

That’s certainly OK with me. Both SS icons (Dock and Menu Bar) show the expected contextual choices, and testing SS’s operation (i.e., does SS assign the correct colors when an email is trained) is also correct. Onward!
