I have been using SpamSieve for years, but I recently started encountering a problem I don’t quite understand how to fix.
I manage several email accounts in Apple Mail. The IMAP accounts work very well with SpamSieve, but iCloud mail, MSN and Gmail are not working well at all. MSN picks up some SpamSieve filtering, but iCloud and Gmail don’t work with it at all. I end up training the same senders with SpamSieve over and over again, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference.
I’ve read the manual and believe my setup is correct. I realize I’m probably not the only person having this issue, so any feedback would be appreciated.
For the record, I’m running the beta version of Tahoe (26.7) and the beta version of SpamSieve (3.3.2b3).
Michael, I’ve reviewed the help file you linked to, but the behavior is the same as I described. The only thing I have that may be non-standard is a suggestion you made a few versions ago to create an ALL JUNK mailbox and list all of the Junk mailboxes under that. I’ve made sure that mailbox folder and it’s subfolders is not checked in Settings as it is listed as “On My Mac.”
For the record, I’m running the developer beta version of MacOS 26.7, build 25G229, but this behavior predates this release.
I’m specifically asking you about Steps 5 and 6. The instructions ask you to do a bunch of things and see what happens. What do you observe for each of those?
All Junk is just for display purposes. It doesn’t affect where messages are stored or moved. But it should be appearing under Favorites, not On My Mac. If you created another mailbox hierarchy under On My Mac, that shouldn’t have any relation to your IMAP accounts or SpamSieve.
