When you install it, Apple setup presents you with three different options (one is disable spam filtering Apple Mail) and I went with the default “Enable filtering using Mail extension.”
I did enable Spam Sieve under Mail → Settings → Extensions
Next, the TRAIN AS GOOD and TRAIN AS SPAM seems to be missing when right-clicking the message or selecting from MESSAGE on the top toolbar.
What I DID notice is that if you right-click on the new SpamSieve icon in the dock while viewing an email you can select the TRAIN AS GOOD AND SPAM commands there. Is that the only way to do it?
I am probably missing something but the main concern is that I don’t see specific instructions in the .pdf that was included with the installer.
As described in the Settings window under Enable filtering using Mail extension, you can train from the SpamSieve icon menu at the top of the screen or from the Dock menu. It also supports the same keyboard shortcuts (Command-Control-S/G) as SpamSieve 2.
I’d like to be included in the Beta group. We have 20 licenses here at work and I have another 2 personally. I’ll plan on testing on my personal laptop prior to any 14 upgrades at the plant. Thanks for all your work! I look forward to contributing in any way I can. (With $$ once the upgrade pricing is established).
On wide screens, the menu bar item is a long way over to the right.
It would be great to have a toolbar icon or floating palette to drive mail by mouse, which is the way I often do it.
OK, for now I would suggest using the keyboard shortcuts or setting up remote training. You could then drag the messages to the TrainSpam mailbox or put it in your Mail favorites bar. After 3.0, I’ll look at other ways to address this issue.
Hi, I’m among those with the Sonoma beta. I’ve been using SpamSieve for longer than I can remember and would love to have the beta to get SpamSieve back and operational. Please add me.
I’m a former software tester (long ago) using the Sonoma Beta who is returning to Mac Mail from Airmail and Spark. I’m excited to try out SpamSieve when it’s ready.
If it’s easy to add me to your beta, I’d appreciate it. If it’s a hassle and if you plan to release it publicly next week, I can wait. Thanks.
Thank you for the information! I’ll get over my frustration now…at least temporarily, knowing that you’re working on a solution. I LOVE SpamSieve!! I’m more than willing to help with beta testing too.
