Spectrum email interference

I wonder if those two sent folders are how Spectrum handles email when I send from my iPhone or iPad. I’ll confirm with them. Ok, I am going to try to set SpamSieve up again. Also I do not use Apple Mail on my computer although I have both email accounts set up in Apple Mail. Is that going to cause any problems?

If you never launch Apple Mail it won’t affect anything.

It seems to be working at the moment. I’ll watch this for today and let you know how it goes. I wonder if it was the rules. I didn’t set up those folders this time.

Things are working much better. I do have an unrelated question. I am going on a two week vacation in September and the computer will be turned off. I CAN leave it on but I wouldn’t want a power surge to happen while I am gone. What do people do when they have to leave the computer off for extended periods of time. Just deal with all the spam during the trip or when they get home?

If power surges concern you, I would recommend unplugging the Mac, not just turning it off. And a UPS or circuit breaker since surges can also happen when you’re there.

As to your question, yes you can either deal with it manually during the trip or have SpamSieve do it automatically when you get home. I recommend turning off auto-training in the settings before you go and turning it back on after you’ve caught up on all the messages.

When I go on vacation, I leave my Mac Studio running, logged into my user account, and Mail/SpamSieve open. It’s on a UPS which provides surge protection plus the ability to ride out short power outages.

If the Mac Studio shuts down, I can’t log in remotely because I use firevault which keeps me from starting up my remote connection (RealVNC Server) unless I am physically present to log in. So I turn on a second copy of SpamSieve on my laptop (which is with me) and use it to process spam. It has a different set of spam data, but it close enough to handle my incoming spam.

And if the laptop is off (say it’s in a hotel room safe) - I just ignore the spam on my iPhone until I can boot the laptop.
