apple mail and others are rolling out AI driven categories to help de-clutter the inbox (sort of a refresh to google inbox tabs and ms’s “clutter” / “other”). almost all of them have pre-defined what categories you can use. and in almost all cases the manual override to the AI suggestion is basically just a sender address based rule instead of any sort of ML on the content. these systems are of little use after you read the mail and triage your inbox because the mails aren’t actually filed anywhere, so once you archive your mail, they are all mixed up again.
so the suggestion / idea here is that it seems spamsieve has a lot of the infrastrcutre to allow users to train the system to categorize mail into arbitrary folders (actual folders) that represent user defined cateories and let a single sender address have mails end up in different folders based on content.
i’m aware of thunderai and automatic tagging feature which I think is a similar idea (and they claim to do spam too) but that is an email client and implementatin specific solution (tags) - and besides spamsieve is the best at what it does.
anyway, just putting this out there fwiw. i’d pay for a seperate product or pay more for it as a new feature.
