I had SpamSieve crash on my mac (Tahoe) and sent crash support to Apple. Got a reply from a Michael Tsai who asked for a Diagnostic Report. When I replied, I was notified that my email message was blocked per this reply “ SpamSieve@c-command dot com
host mx2.dreamhost dot com [64.90.62.164]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<spamsieve@c-command dot com>:
554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [185.56.86.134] blocked using zen.dnsbl
Reporting-MTA: dns; instance-us-central1-lg6w.prod.antispam.mailspamprotection.com”
There may be a link in the reply where you can report that your message was falsely blocked.
Or you can send the diagnostic report to me via private forum message.
I’m chatting with my hosting service (SiteGround). Will see what they find out. Thanks Michael.
Thanks for sending the log file. It looks like there are two damaged database files:
/Users/Bob/Library/Application Support/SpamSieve/Rules.spamsieve-rules/V3/Rules.sqlite3
/Users/Bob/Library/Application Support/SpamSieve/Log.spamsieve-logd/Log 2024-09.spamsieve-log/V2/Log 2024-09.sqlite3
The log file is not that important, so you could simply quit SpamSieve and Mail and delete the folder /Users/Bob/Library/Application Support/SpamSieve/Log.spamsieve-logd/Log 2024-09.spamsieve-log.
The other file holds the blocklist and allowlist rules. If you have a backup from before the damage occurred, you could quit SpamSieve and Mail and replace the folder /Users/Bob/Library/Application Support/SpamSieve/Rules.spamsieve-rules from backup. Otherwise, you could delete that folder to reset the database.
Deleted both files. Will keep an eye on the trash and spam folders to correct training. Thanks.
Our mail provider is investigating but would like to see the full bounceback message. Could you use File ‣ Save As in Mail and save the message in Raw Message Source format and then send me the file?
