USPS Informed Delivery always routed to Spam

I have Informed Delivery from the USPS. Every day I receive emails previewing what’s in today’s mail as well as a later email confirming the delivery.
I have trained these as Good every day for months. I have green flagged them and marked them VIP. Yet they still get shunted to Spam or Junk every day.
I have gone through the Mac Mail setup instructions multiple times to make sure I haven’t made an error someplace, but no luck yet.

The address the emails are sent from is USPSInformeddelivery@email.informeddelivery.usps.com

I use Mac mail version 16.0 and Spam Sieve 3.2.2. Any suggestions on things I need to double or triple check? Thank you!

A side note - these emails are sent to my Yahoo address, where Mac Mail plucks them from. I’ve looked over the Yahoo settings and don’t really find anything there that sends them to Spam.

Please check SpamSieve’s Log window. Does it say these messages are Predicted: Spam? If not, it may be due to another Apple Mail rule or the Yahoo spam filter.

Thanks for the reply Michael. The USPS emails log as Predicted: Good.

I currently have no Rules at all set up in Apple Mail. I checked Yahoo’s web mail settings. In Filters it’s set to deliver to Starred or Train Good for the USPS emails.

Edit: I did just check SpamSieve’s Apple Mail settings. Enable spam filtering using the Mail extension is checked. Should that be unchecked?

What do those log entries say for Origin?

Are there any other Macs that access this mail account?

No.

Origin - Yahoo! (IMAP) ‣ INBOX in Mail 16.0 (filter inboxes)

I do have an iPhone 17 Pro and an iPad 10th generation. Both have the latest iOS.

What I take from this is that Yahoo did not move the message to Spam; it left it in the inbox. Then SpamSieve looked at it and thought it was good. And then sometime later something else moved it to Spam, but it’s not clear what that could be. It might help to make a Yahoo or Mail rule that moves these messages to a separate mailbox so that whatever else is moving them doesn’t find them in the inbox.

Thanks again Michael. To kind of start fresh I removed the 2 filter items for USPS from Yahoo webmail site.

I went into Mail/Settings/Accounts/Yahoo and set up a rule that any sender with From: usps will be moved to All Inboxes.

I usually get an email later in the day to show that USPS has delivered. I’ll check things then. I’ll also see what happens tomorrow with the daily Informed Delivery emails that generally come in around 7:30 AM.

Thanks!

I recommend having it move the message to a separate USPS mailbox to hide it from whatever’s moving it out of the inbox.

Because I had the USPS stuff marked as VIP, I set the rule so that mail from any sender that is VIP is moved to one of the Inboxes. This morning it seems to have worked.
Thanks for your time Michael.

I’m glad it’s working for you now, but I don’t think it’s because of the VIP rule. Rules are only auto-applied to messages in the inbox, so a rule that moves messages to the inbox does nothing except to stop subsequent rules from being applied (of which you said you had none).
