SpamSieve encountered error -1751 (errOSAlnvalidlD - ):

I had used Spamsieve some years ago.

I got the latest version installed. I am running Sequoia 15.6.1 Mac Mini Intel

The program is working but I am getting frequent errors and I have to restart the computer to restart indicating Spam. A dialog stating the above error and a Spamsieve icon

I am using Apple Mail

An AppleScript error occurred

SpamSieve encountered error -1751

Is the error occurring by itself or only in response to your asking SpamSieve to train a message as spam?

And you are saying that restarting your Mac temporarily fixes the problem? For how long?

It occurs only when I am training as Spam.

I can get through some training and then when I come back latter the error occurs.

See attached PDF.

I used SpamSieve about 10 years ago a lot. I don’t know why I stopped exactly . But I seem to have a lot more junk that Apple Mail does not know what to do with.
So I thought I would try again.

Does it help if you quit and relaunch Mail?

I did this earlier and the program is running fine so far.

I will continue to test different scenarios.

My ISP sends sends mailcleaner reports of items removed as spam. I never had time to read them and I may have told Apple mail they were junk.
Don’t remember.

I have not gotten these for awhile. But after training items as spam they have sent me 6 of these.

Not sure why they quit sending them but SpamSieve seems to have gotten their attention.

Thanks

I continue to get this error from time to time. The error dialog would indicate that this is coming from something SpamSieve is doing.

I will continue to see if I can get more information what I might be using or doing that causes this.

I also purchased DropDMG and this is easier to use than DISKIMAGE

Thanks

It seems like SpamSieve asking Mail to do something with the message (probably move it to Junk), and Mail is reporting an error. Is it possible that you have another Mac or device that’s doing something with the same message at the same time? It could also just be a bug in Mail causing this. You could click here to enable some extra debug logging and then save a diagnostic report the next time the problem occurs so that we can see more about where the error is happening.

Thanks

I’ll run the debug

Thanks for the diagnostic report. Please make sure that you have granted SpamSieve Full Disk Access.

Thanks

Full Disc Access seemed to work great.
