SpamSieve hanging Mail

I continually am having SpamSieve hang up and prevents Mail from starting. When it does start, it deactivates the SpamSieve plugin and deactivates the SpamSieve rule. Running SpamSieve 2.9.50, Mail 16.0, macOS Ventura 13.0.1.

Followed the links here and here with no luck.

Any other ideas for getting this to work?
