Even after I tell it to not appear in the menu bar, it reappears about a day later. I really need it to not be in my menu bar for when I share screens. FWIW, this happens on my wife’s computer as well.
Has anyone figured the way to get “Show menu bar icon” to stick?
I haven’t been that before. SpamSieve tries to sync up with your manual manipulation of the menu bar. So if you drag the icon off, it will automatically turn off Show menu bar icon. I didn’t think there was a way out side of the app to put the icon back in the menu bar, but maybe that’s what it thinks you’re doing, and so it’s turning the checkbox back on?
You can click here to enable some extra debug logging, and then if this happens again, please use the Save Diagnostic Report command in the Help menu and send me the report file, as described here, so that I can investigate further.
I dragged it off the menu bar, and it stayed off for a while, then it came back this morning.
I have enabled extra debugging, and I’m dragging it off the menu bar again. I will report later when (if!) it happens again.
Thanks. Did the app quit and relaunch during that time?
I think this is fixed in SpamSieve 3.2.1b1.
I am still having this problem with 3.2.1. Every time I reboot the computer, SpamSieve reappears in the menu bar. I have just enabled the extra debug logging and will send it the next time it happens.
Does it help if you toggle the Show menu bar icon option off and on and off again?
Sorry, I should’ve mentioned that I have done that several times, after each restart where the menu bar reappears, and toggling does not help.
